Storage: 5 GB is the real limit
Free iCloud is 5 GB across Mail, Photos, device backups, and Drive. That is why iCloud Mail fills up while Gmail still feels empty. iCloud+ starts at 50 GB. Custom Email Domain is an iCloud+ extra, not a reason to stay if the inbox is the problem.
