Open a reply. Faraday starts writing it.
The draft is built from the thread in front of you, and from two emails you have already sent the people on that reply. If Faraday cannot find those, it uses two recent messages from your sent mail, so the length, the greeting, and the close can follow the way you actually write. You do not type a prompt first.
Where the draft goes
If the composer is empty, the draft lands in the body. While it is working you will see Auto-writing.
If the composer already has text, including a signature, Faraday leaves your words alone. The draft appears underneath as a suggestion. Click it to use it. The cancel icon dismisses it.
Switch to another email and Faraday cancels the draft still in flight, then starts one for the thread you just opened.
Reply, reply all, forward, follow-up
It runs when there is a thread to answer: reply, reply all, forward, and a follow-up on something you sent. A brand-new message, with no thread behind it, waits for you. There is nothing to answer yet.
When you want to add a line of your own
Auto-write is still on the composer. Open it and add an instruction when the thread does not contain what you need to say: a date, a no, a number, a name. Generate uses that line. The automatic draft is the path when the conversation already holds the job.
This is the same bet as the rest of Faraday: intelligence that does the obvious thing before you ask. The longer version of that argument is Aren't we already tired of prompting?
Those two sent emails are context for this draft. Faraday does not train on your mail.
Does Faraday write email replies automatically?
Yes. Opening a reply, reply all, forward, or follow-up starts a draft from the thread. You do not have to open Auto-write first.
Will the automatic draft replace what I already typed?
Your text stays. If the composer already has words, the draft shows up as a suggestion. Click it to use it, or dismiss it and keep what you wrote.
What does Faraday read to draft a reply?
The current thread, who is on it, and two emails you have sent — to the people on the reply when it can find them, otherwise two recent messages from your sent mail. It uses those as a reference for tone, length, greetings, and sign-off.
Can I still tell Faraday what to write?
Yes. Auto-write takes an optional instruction and generates from that. Use it when you need to add something the thread does not say.
