How to approve Faraday for your Google Workspace org
When your employees try to connect Faraday to their work Gmail, they may hit an "unverified app" warning or an access block depending on your Workspace security settings. One approval from you removes that for everyone.
This is a 5-minute process. Here's exactly what to do.
Before you start
You'll need a Super Admin or Security Admin account on Google Workspace — lower-privilege roles can't access API controls. Have Faraday's OAuth Client ID ready; you can find it here - 458190680538-bqp2ru4cg2unmgldt1t5g7k095hchbm2.apps.googleusercontent.com.Step 1: Open App Access Control
→ Go to admin.google.com→ Security
↓ Access and data control
↓ API controls
↓ Manage App Access
→ Configure New App.
Step 2: Add Faraday
Click Add app → OAuth App Name Or Client ID, search for Faraday (or paste the above Client ID if the name search doesn't return it), select the app, and click Select.Step 3: Set to Trusted and deploy
When prompted for Organisational Units, select your top-level OU to deploy to everyone — which is what we'd recommend. If you'd prefer to start with a specific team first, select the relevant sub-OU and extend to the full org later from the same entry. Set the access level to Trusted and click Configure access. That's it. Faraday will appear in your approved app list with a Trusted badge. If your Workspace is configured to block all third-party apps by default, this still applies — adding Faraday creates an explicit exception without changing your broader restriction policy. Google Admin changes can take up to 30 minutes to propagate, after which your users can connect from faraday.email with no warnings and no friction.
On permissions and security
Faraday requests standard Gmail and Contacts permissions — the minimum needed to organise, and draft emails. No access to Drive, Calendar, or anything outside the inbox.More importantly: Faraday is end-to-end encrypted, ESOF-certified, uses AES-256 protocols, and has absolutely zero human processing. Neither do AI models train on your data. If your organisation needs formal compliance documentation, data residency details, or audit log information, email team@faraday.email and we'll turn it around within one business day.
Once approved, your team connects in under a minute — and their inboxes become much smarter from day one.
