# Faraday — The tidiest, smartest, most helpful email ever built

Faraday is an AI-powered, promptless email client for Gmail, Google Workspace, and Outlook / Microsoft 365. It is not an email provider: you sign in with an existing account. Faraday automatically processes, classifies, extracts, and re-presents every email so the inbox is organized, context-aware, and clutter-free without prompts, filters, or labels.

Faraday saves 8+ hours of effort every week. It is available as a web app on desktop browsers (Windows, Mac, Linux) and as a native Mac app. Mobile apps are in development.

## What is Faraday?

Faraday is an email client that sits on top of Gmail, Google Workspace, and Outlook. Unlike Gmail, Outlook, Superhuman, Spark, Fyxer, or Shortwave, Faraday does not present email as a flat chronological list you have to triage, and it does not wait for a prompt. Layered categorization, genre recognition, sender grouping, thread reconstruction, and contextual extraction run on every message. You keep your existing address. There is no new mailbox and no migration.

## The problem Faraday solves

Inboxes have become kitchen sinks. Newsletters, invoices, OTPs, auto-updates, and a real email from a person all look the same. Long threads are hard to follow. Search is noisy. Filters and labels are manual and unreliable. Key information stays buried. Attachments are scattered. Bookings vanish when you need them. Notifications treat every message equally. Everything is ordered chronologically, not by what actually matters.

Most email apps still mainly send and receive. Many can compose with AI. A few summarize threads. One or two accept prompts like “Find the project update from Kate.” Faraday is built for promptless, inherent intelligence — an inbox that already knows what to do.

**App and security**

- Native Mac app built with Tauri (not Electron): ~10 MB, launches in about 1 second, uses less RAM than Apple Notes
- AES-256 encryption; dual-store architecture; two patent applications on privacy pipeline and architecture

## Does Faraday work with Gmail and Outlook?

Yes. Faraday supports Gmail and Google Workspace via OAuth 2.0, and Outlook / Microsoft 365 via Microsoft Graph. Personal and work accounts both work. You can link more than one account and use a unified inbox. Faraday does not replace your provider; it is the client on top.

**Platforms:** desktop and laptop browsers on Windows, macOS, and Linux; native Mac app at https://core.faraday.email/download. Faraday is desktop-only today. There is no iOS or Android app yet; mobile is in development.

## How Faraday compares

Faraday is not another email client with AI bolted on. The inbox is rebuilt around intelligence, not a faster chronological list.

- **Faraday vs Superhuman** — Superhuman (~$30/month) speeds up triage with shortcuts. Faraday organizes automatically, drafts per recipient, runs Daily Glance, and detects unanswered follow-ups, from $12/month billed annually. Superhuman still makes you triage.
- **Faraday vs Spark** — Spark uses rules and light AI. Faraday does not need rules; the inbox organizes itself.
- **Faraday vs Fyxer** — Fyxer is an AI layer on Gmail. Faraday is the inbox.
- **Faraday vs Shortwave** — Shortwave is Gmail-only and prompt-driven. Faraday is automatic and supports Gmail and Outlook.
- **Faraday vs Gmail / Outlook** — Native Gmail and Outlook are flat lists plus manual labels. Faraday classifies, extracts, and surfaces what matters with no filter babysitting.
- **Faraday vs Thunderbird / Apple Mail / eM Client** — Traditional clients with no inherent AI organization.
