# A simpler view, now live!

A simpler view is now live — an additional clean tabular layout that keeps Faraday's deep categorization, metadata, filters, and quick actions. For the few who prefer a simpler table.

Our users love Faraday's rich views.

The cards. The layouts. The interactions. The way a booking actually looks like a booking, a bill looks like a bill, and a human conversation sits in its own visual world — apart from a newsletter, a receipt, a flight. You adopted them. You stayed with them. You've asked for more of them. That reception is the nicest thing we could have hoped for — and we are going to keep making those views richer.

And we're additionally now supporting the few of you who prefer a simpler layout.

## The views you love — and a table, if you want one

Faraday's rich views remain the heart of the product. Cards with real structure. Dedicated layouts for Humans, Bills, Bookings, Newsletters, Updates, and Notifications. Interactions that match the mail. That design is Faraday, and people keep asking for more of it. We will keep going there.

Simple view is an extra layout for those who prefer rows and columns: a **tabular inbox** that is uncluttered, clean, and neatly tidied — with Faraday's intelligence running all the way through it.

## What Simple view actually is

A **clean tabular layout of emails** across all six Faraday sections. Already classified. Already inferred. Already tidy.

Humans stay a quiet list you can scan: undone, unread, direct, flagged, saved, received, sent, drafts. Bills, Bookings, Newsletters, Updates, and Notifications become proper tables — sender, type or genre, the particulars that actually matter, then the metadata Faraday already extracted.

Today sits above Earlier. New mail is counted. You can flip newsletters, updates, and notifications between **contents** and **subject** without leaving the table. See more, open less — with everything Faraday already understood sitting right on the line.

## Intelligence in the rows

Simple view carries the full Faraday underneath.

You get **deep categorization** — Humans, Bills & Txns, Bookings, Newsletters, Updates, Notifications — without a rule, a label, or a prompt. You get **genre and type recognition**: a flight is a flight, a hotel is a hotel, a statement is a statement, a food newsletter is a food newsletter. Faraday already knew this. Simple view puts it on a line you can scan.

And you get **metadata inferencing** sitting in the columns:
**• Bills** — amount, currency, due date, paid / pending / overdue, brand
**• Bookings** — event time, location, type
**• Newsletters and Updates** — genre, plus contents or subject
**• Notifications** — type, value, validity

Inherent intelligence, the same way it always was. The table inherits the work Faraday already did. [Prompt-less, all the way through](https://faraday.email/blog/intelligence-beyond-compose-assist).

## Filters that actually narrow

The table comes with rich filters, so you can slice exactly what you want.

On Humans: **Undone, Unread, Direct, Flagged, Saved, Received, Sent, Drafts** — plus your Gmail labels or Outlook categories if you show them.

On everything else: **Flagged** and **Saved**, then **Senders**, **Types**, or **Genres** depending on the section. Combine them. The list count becomes a result count. Clear when you're done.

Filter a set of newsletters from one sender and archive or delete the lot in one go. Filter bills by type and see only the statements. See the slice, act on the slice.

## Quick actions, without leaving the line

Flag. Archive. Mark a bill paid. More. Right there on the row — open the mail when you want to read it.

Keyboard still works. [⌘K still works](https://faraday.email/blog/faraday-faster-command-palette-snooze-archives-2026). Natural snooze still works. Same actions, quieter chrome, still Faraday-fast.

When a filter is on, you can also **archive or delete everything in that result set**. Scan-and-act, on mail Faraday already understood.

## How to turn Simple view on

1. Open **Options**.
2. Under Preferences, turn on **Switch to Simple view**.
3. Your six sections stay. The layout becomes the table.

Turn it off the same way whenever you want the rich views again. Simple view is the ungrouped, tidy list on purpose — a layout preference, with all of Faraday still there.

## Who this is for

The small set of people who prefer a simpler, **tabular layout** of emails — and still want Faraday's intelligence in full.

Operators who scan amounts and due dates. People who think in rows. Anyone who loves Faraday's cards and also likes a clean line they can fly down.

If that is you: you now get Faraday's deep categorization, metadata inferencing, rich filters, and quick actions — in the uncluttered table you've been wanting. Built for you, in addition to everything everyone else already loves.

## It's live

Web and Mac, today. If you're on the [desktop app](https://faraday.email/blog/faraday-mac-app-launch), update it first. Then Options → Simple view. That's the whole trick.

The rich views remain the heart of Faraday — and we will keep making them richer. Simple view is how we now also support the few who prefer a table: classified, inferred, filterable, and fully intelligent.

If you live in the rich views, they're still yours, still getting better. If you've been wanting rows — this one is for you. [Open your inbox](https://faraday.email/).

If you still have questions, we might have answered all of them below for you.

## What is Faraday Simple view?

**Simple view** is an additional **tabular layout** of your Faraday inbox. Same six sections — Humans, Bills, Bookings, Newsletters, Updates, Notifications — shown as a clean table (or a quiet list, for Humans), with Faraday's rich views still right there when you want them. Categorization, metadata, filters, and quick actions all stay. The layout gets simpler. The intelligence stays Faraday.

## How do I turn on Faraday Simple view?

Open **Options**, then under Preferences turn on **Switch to Simple view**. The six sections remain. The layout becomes the table. Turn the same toggle off whenever you want the rich views again. Your mail, settings, and accounts stay exactly as they are.

## Does Simple view still use Faraday's AI categorization?

Yes — all of it. Faraday still classifies every email into Humans, Bills & Txns, Bookings, Newsletters, Updates, and Notifications, still recognizes genres and types, and still infers amounts, due dates, locations, event times, brands, and statuses. You are looking at the same intelligence, in rows.

## What columns does the Faraday tabular inbox show?

It depends on the section, because the mail is different. Bills show sender, type, particulars, amount, due date, and status. Bookings show sender, type, particulars, event time, and location. Newsletters and Updates show sender, genre, and contents or subject. Notifications show sender, type, contents or subject, value, and validity. Humans stay a tidy list with Faraday's human filters. Attachments and timestamps sit on the row either way.

## Can I filter emails in Faraday Simple view?

Yes — and the filters are what make the table sing. Humans: Undone, Unread, Direct, Flagged, Saved, Received, Sent, Drafts, plus labels if you show them. Other sections: Flagged, Saved, Senders, and Types or Genres. Combine them. When a filter is on, you can archive or delete the whole result set.

## Can I keep using Faraday's rich card views?

Yes. They remain the default, the heart of Faraday, and we are still making them richer. Simple view is an additional layout you can turn on if you prefer a table. Both are Faraday. You pick the one that fits how you like to look at mail.

## Who is Faraday Simple view for?

The few people who prefer a simpler table of emails, and still want Faraday's intelligence underneath: deep categorization, metadata inferencing, rich filters, and quick actions. Anyone who thinks in rows and wants that table uncluttered, clean, and neatly tidied — now fully supported, alongside the rich views everyone else loves.

## Is Simple view available on the Faraday Mac app?

Yes. Simple view is live on the web and the [native Mac app](https://faraday.email/blog/faraday-mac-app-launch). Update the desktop app first, then turn it on from Options. Same toggle, same six sections, same intelligence.
