# ⌘K, natural snooze, and a 2.6x faster inbox

Faraday now loads 2.6x faster — plus a ⌘K command palette, natural-language snooze, a dedicated Archives page, and streak rewards. Here is everything that just shipped.

Faraday continues to get even better.

A handful of updates over the last couple of weeks — a few simple, one we honestly couldn't resist. Just log in and go to your inbox. If you're on the [desktop app](https://faraday.email/blog/faraday-mac-app-launch), update it first. You'll want to feel this.

## A command palette for every inbox action

Hit **⌘+K** (or **Ctrl+K** on Windows). That's the whole trick!

The palette is a single search box over **all inbox actions** — compose, reply, reply all, forward, flag, save, archive, mark done, jump to Humans / Bills / Bookings / Newsletters, open settings, add an account, sync now. Type a couple of letters. Arrow. Enter. You never have to remember which key does what, and you never have to hunt a menu.

It's the same muscle Superhuman trained people on, pointed at Faraday's actual surface: classified mail, dedicated views, and the actions you use ten times a morning. Very handy.

> Hit ⌘+K. That is the whole trick.

## Snooze in natural language

Want an email back in 4 days at 3 PM? No calendar widget. No pile of clicks. Open snooze and type **"in 4d at 3"**. Done!

These all work too:
**• "tmrw at 10"**
**• "tokyo 1pm"**
**• "fri morning"**
**• "in 2 days at 11"**
**• "next tuesday"**

City names resolve to timezones. Abbreviations like tmrw, 4d, and fri are fine. Morning, afternoon, evening — all fine. We'd actually like to see you break it with the trickiest phrases. If Faraday can parse it, you'll see a small confirmation of the exact datetime before you confirm — so you're never guessing whether "tokyo 1pm" meant your 1pm or Tokyo's.

## Archives that persist — and a page of their own

Archived mail used to get lost between the browser and the Mac app. That one's fixed. **Archives now persist perfectly across platforms.** What you archive on the web is sitting there on desktop, and the other way around.

They also have a brand new home: [**faraday.email/archives**](https://faraday.email/archives). Same Faraday organization — humans, bills, bookings, newsletters, updates, notifications — applied to what you've already cleared. This was long pending. It's finally here, and it's spotless.

## Streaks, and the people who will not let them reset

We're seeing users on a **45-day concurrent streak** on Faraday. Some have reached 60 without missing a single weekend! The highest ongoing streak right now is **81**. We'll be heartbroken if it resets to 1.

That kind of dedication to email — and to Faraday — deserves more than a number. Going forward, every month we'll reach out with the choicest gifts to users with an impressive streak. You can also see your own value every morning when you first visit your inbox. Don't let it reset!

## And then Faraday got 2.6x faster

Of all the tricks and nifty orchestrations we devised to build Faraday, we pulled off one more.

A set of changes now makes your favourite email client load **2.6x faster**. Every page load and every sync feels super snappy. Try hitting **⌘+R** (refresh) — you won't even feel the entire page reloaded!

How are 1,200 emails loading in **200 milliseconds**?! That's the kind of question we like sitting with. The inbox was already organized. Now it's organized *and* instant. Much, much faster than Gmail and Superhuman.

If you're on the Mac app, remember to update it before you try this. The web app picks the change up on the next load.

> Your favourite email client now loads 2.6× faster.

## All of it is live

It's all on Faraday today — web and Mac. Log in, hit ⌘+K, snooze something with a phrase you'd actually say, open [/archives](https://faraday.email/archives), and refresh once just to feel it. More updates are lined up. [Try it](https://faraday.email/) if you haven't yet!

If you still have questions, we might have answered all of them below for you.

## How do I open the Faraday command palette?

Press **⌘+K** on Mac or **Ctrl+K** on Windows — as long as you're not typing in a compose box or another field. A search overlay pops over the inbox. Type any action, view, or setting — compose, archive, bills, sync, add account — and hit Enter. You don't need to memorise the rest of Faraday's shortcuts to use it. That's the point!

## Does Faraday's command palette cover every inbox action?

Yes. It's a single index of inbox actions and destinations: reply, reply all, forward, flag, save, mark done, archive, delete, jump to mail types and genres, open settings, billing, help, and sync. If you can do it from the inbox, you can find it from ⌘+K.

## Can I snooze emails in Faraday with natural language?

Yes — and it's a little too fun. Faraday parses phrases like **"in 4d at 3"**, **"tmrw at 10"**, **"fri morning"**, and **"tokyo 1pm"** into a real datetime. You don't pick from a calendar grid unless you want to. A confirmation line shows the exact time Faraday understood before you confirm, including city and timezone names. Please try to break it.

## How do I snooze an email in Faraday until a specific time?

Flag the email and open snooze, then type the time in plain language instead of clicking through dates. Examples that work: "in 2 days at 11", "next tuesday", "london 9am", "tmrw 10am". Confirm when the parsed time looks right. The email leaves the active inbox and comes back at that moment — like it never left, just waited.

## Does Faraday have an archives page?

Yes! Archived mail now lives at [**faraday.email/archives**](https://faraday.email/archives), organized the same way as the rest of Faraday — not a single dumped folder. Archives also persist across the web app and the native Mac app, so clearing mail on one device doesn't orphan it on the other. That one felt good to finally ship.

## Why is Faraday faster than Gmail and Superhuman now?

We shipped a set of loading and sync changes that make the inbox **2.6x faster** than it was a week ago. Page loads and syncs both got the treatment. People with around 1,200 emails in view are seeing them appear in about **200 milliseconds**. Refresh with ⌘+R and you barely notice the reload. Gmail and Superhuman were already the speed bar. Faraday is now ahead of it on open and refresh — and it feels a little unfair, in the best way.

## Do I need to update the Faraday Mac app for the speed improvements?

Yes, if you use the desktop app — otherwise you'll miss the fun. The speed work is live on the web immediately; the [native Mac app](https://faraday.email/blog/faraday-mac-app-launch) needs an update to pick up the same client changes. Update Faraday from the app (or re-download), then open your inbox. Web users can just refresh.

## What is a Faraday inbox streak?

A streak counts consecutive days you actually visit your Faraday inbox, including weekends. Some people are past 45 days. A few have hit 60 without missing a Saturday or Sunday. The highest ongoing streak is 81 — we're a little protective of that one. You see your current streak on the first visit of the morning. Miss a day and it resets, which is exactly why people guard it.

## Does Faraday reward long inbox streaks?

Yes. Every month we'll reach out with gifts for users who keep an impressive streak. The streak itself shows up when you first open the inbox that day, so you know where you stand without opening a stats page. Showing up for email, every day, is the whole product. We'd like the people who do that to feel it.
